dear new and returning friends of the museum

Welcome to the web presence of the Canadian Historical Arms Museum (CHAM). CHAM is dedicated to the collection, preservation, and restoration of small arms, their accessories, literature and accoutrements. We are committed to the accurate and unbiased education of our patrons, friends, the public and especially our youth about the technology and role of small arms in Canadian and world history.

CHAM was originally started by a small group of collectors who sought to give a long term home, a “safe haven”, to their collections. Changing laws and other factors out of individuals’ control has combined to create an environment where the future of these priceless, and in many cases irreplaceable, artifacts could end up being destroyed with no regard to the impact on future generations. Now CHAM is here, and we work to preserve for our children, the interesting and intriguing artifacts, along with their stories, that have formed a part of Canada’s history. How did this get here? Who used it? How DOES it work? Through the efforts of our dedicated volunteers we can now outreach others and provide this same safety net and care for their artifacts that are entrusted to our care.

Since commencing this journey and founding CHAM, the Museum has grown into a fully registered Canadian Charity and we are finding many more like-minded Canadians who are supporting the Museum’s goals through donations to the collection as well as monetary and skills support. It is truly a new “family” that is growing, from all walks of Canadian life, and who are contributing as equals, each as they are able, to this mission.

We look forward to meeting you and to including you in our Museum Family, and we thank you for your time, your consideration, and your support. We constantly seek new volunteers, supporters, and donors. If you are interested in helping in any way we look forward to hearing from you. No donation, article, or action is too small to be appreciated. Thank you again for visiting our site and for your future support to our goals. On behalf of the Museum, I remain,

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us and we will get back to you!
